Job Description

The Traffic Control Technician (TCT) must maintain a safe work zone that ensures that traffic stays out of the way of the workers. This involves setting up and removing temporary cones, signs, variable message boards, and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding up signs that tells traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly. Traffic-control technicians must be constantly aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. They may be asked to lead job site team and instruct/monitor and train crew members on safety and job duties and responsibilities and report to Traffic Control Supervisor.

o Must be able to communicate to contractor employees, co-workers, and supervisors effectively and manage truck inventory and job site materials and paperwork.
o Follow all safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment (work boots – 6 inches with safety toe, safety glasses, cut level 4 ANSI gloves, hard hat, and safety vest all issued by RoadSafe).
o Support project as Flagger as needed to create a safe work area.
o Set-up signs, cones, etc. around work areas to divert traffic.
o Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
o All other duties as assigned.

• Excellent attendance required, dependable transportation and good work ethic

REQUIREMENT:
o Excellent communication skills
o Valid Florida Intermediate Certification
o Previous Traffic Control / MOT experience a plus
o Full-time availability (to include days / shifts)
o Ability to pass a drug test
o Ability to clear DOT physical screening
o Valid drivers license
o Ability to pass comprehensive background check (that includes a guardian screening, criminal widescreen, and MVR)
o Ability to participate and pass company sponsored defensive driving training
o Reliable means of transportation to and from work (office)
