Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing Traffic Control Department on multiple traffic control projects. They ensure that all crews and management associates are following corporate safety policies at all times. Their duties include managing employees, effective and efficient project staffing by communicating with associates, customers, and agencies to create cost effective staffing, and customer relations as necessary. Project managers assure training of staff and coordinate new hire training, and responsible to make sure traffic control personnel communicated to regarding policy, procedures, and job assignments. They interact with other personnel regarding project specifics including, manpower, materials, equipment, and times. They also visit and perform site audits as directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
• Execute all projects safely.
• Coordinates all outside labor needs. • Managing communications (reports, directions, etc).
• Mentoring other project personnel to help improve skills.
• Manages assigned projects as directed by Operations Manager.
• Documenting project status periodically and in final close-out report.
• Assist Operations Manager with other duties and assignment as directed.
• Deliver the project on time or report deviations to plan to Operations Manager.
• Manage branch operations including equipment needs and all DOT compliance.
• Equipping the team with the resources it needs to execute the scope of their needs.
• Direct contact with all customers and provides solutions to solving customers problems.
• Develop employee schedules, manage personnel on projects, making sure times are recorded and reported on time.
• Execute all projects in conformance with the scope of the contract (with QUALITY, to level of the plans and specs in the most cost-effective way).
• Involved in the decision-making process to hire or terminate employees, or the suggestions and recommendations as to hiring, termination, advancement, promotion, or any other change that affects an employee’s status/title.
• Providing regular and accurate forecasts of revenue, margin, cost, and completion milestones.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5 years of management experience and/or Traffic Control background.
• Understanding of the financial aspects of job costing and “bid to actual results” including variance analysis
• Ability to schedule resources to maximize efficiencies
• Ability to assist with projecting revenue and costs based on backlog and bid pipeline
• Knowledgeable in branch specific Lines of Business; experience with unions and labor relations, where applicable
• Understanding of the various equipment utilized within the scope of the operation
• Experience in planning and resource allocation for both people and equipment.
• Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc. with ability to learn ERP system.
• Must have excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
• Industry involvement through trade associations, coalitions with state FDOT, or similar is desired.
• Must have a good driving record and able to pass a background check and drug test.
