Project Manager

Job Description

Ajax Paving is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead FDOT and government roadway projects. This role oversees daily project execution, manages budgets and schedules, and mentors the next generation of project leaders. The Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining strong relationships with FDOT, CEI firms, subcontractors, and owners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage road and bridge construction projects from start to finish.

• Oversee budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations.

• Mentor and develop project managers across the team.

• Prepare project documentation, including schedules, invoices, and reports.

• Monitor costs and ensure compliance with FDOT and contractual standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

• Minimum 10 years of experience managing FDOT/government roadway projects.

• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

• Knowledge of FDOT specifications, cost control, and scheduling.

• OSHA Certification, Traffic Control Supervisor, CPPR, CQC, and FDOT Asphalt Paving Levels 1 & 2 preferred.

Working Conditions & Requirements:

• Ability to work in field and office environments, with flexibility for days, nights, and weekends.

• Must be capable of performing physical site visits.
