About us
Pura Vida Engineering Services is a growing Orlando engineering firm offering construction materials testing (CMT), geotechnical drilling, and dewatering permitting across Central Florida. PVE is FDOT prequalified in work groups 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4.1 and 10.3. You will learn fast, work directly with our CMT manager and engineers, and see your work make a difference on every project.

We are hiring at two levels:
– Technician I (entry, 0–2 yrs): no experience required. We will train you and help you get certified.
– Technician II/III (experienced): current ACI and FDOT CTQP qualifications, comfortable working independently on FDOT and private sites.

Responsibilities
· Soil density and moisture testing with a nuclear gauge (ASTM D6938)
· Concrete field testing: slump, air, temperature, unit weight, and casting/handling cylinders
· Asphalt field testing and sampling (density, temperature, sampling)
· Collect samples and support the lab with Proctors and other soil tests
· Work on FDOT and private commercial/residential projects
· Write accurate daily field reports and communicate results to supervisors and site staff
· Maintain testing equipment and the company vehicle; follow radiation safety and site safety rules

Requirements
· Valid Florida driver’s license and a clean driving record
· Reliable, punctual, and willing to start early (pours often begin before sunrise); occasional nights and weekends
· Able to work outdoors in Florida heat, walk uneven ground, and lift up to 50 lbs
· Basic math, a smartphone or laptop, and clear written reports
· High school diploma or GED
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
· Willing to earn certifications with company support

Preferred certifications
· ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
· FDOT CTQP: Earthwork Construction Inspection Level 1, Concrete Field Technician Level 1, Asphalt Paving Level 1; QC Manager (senior candidates)
· Nuclear gauge / radiation safety training and HAZMAT (DOT) training
· FDOT project experience

Pay
$18–$22/hr (Technician I); $22–$30/hr (Technician II/III, based on certifications and experience). Overtime paid.
