A valid CDL Class A license is required for this role. Pura Vida Engineering Services is hiring a Driller Helper to support our geotechnical drill crew on SPT and auger borings across Central Florida, and to drive and move our drill rig and support truck between job sites.

Pura Vida Engineering Services is a growing Orlando engineering firm offering construction materials testing (CMT), geotechnical drilling (SPT borings and auger borings), and dewatering permitting across Central Florida. PVE is FDOT prequalified in work groups 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4.1 and 10.3. You will learn fast, work directly with our driller and engineers, and see your work make a difference on every project.

Responsibilities
· Drive the drill rig and support truck safely between job sites across Central Florida (CDL Class A), including pre-trip inspections
· Help the driller set up, run, and break down truck-mounted and track-mounted drill rigs
· Handle drill rods, augers, and split-spoon samplers; add and remove rods as the boring advances
· Collect, log, label, and bag soil samples during drilling; prepare soil sample boxes
· Load and unload drilling equipment and supplies
· Perform site reconnaissance and help locate and stake borings; set up the work area and clean up the site when done (including backfilling boreholes)
· Set up and follow traffic control (MOT) and site safety rules on roadway and private sites
· Assist with routine rig and truck maintenance: greasing, fluids, cleaning, and minor repairs
· Communicate with the driller and engineer to make sure project needs are met and drilling instructions are followed
· Operate drilling equipment and support vehicles as needed, and other related duties as assigned

Requirements
· Valid CDL Class A license (required)
· Clean driving record (MVR)
· Current DOT medical card
· Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, handle rods and augers, and work on your feet all day
· Able to work outdoors in Florida heat, sun, and rain
· Reliable and punctual; willing to start early and travel daily to job sites within Central Florida
· Pass a pre-employment drug screen
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice to have
· Geotechnical, environmental, or well drilling experience (SPT, auger, mud rotary)
· OSHA 10
· MOT / traffic control training
· CPR / First Aid

Pay
$22–$26/hr, based on experience. Overtime paid.
