EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Job Description

de Moya Highway Infrastructure is currently seeking skilled Excavator and Dozer Operators with experience in heavy civil and highway construction. The Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, including excavators and dozers, to perform grading, trenching, excavation, and backfill operations on DOT and large infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate excavators to dig trenches, load trucks, perform cuts/fills, and place materials with precision.

Operate dozers to grade surfaces, build slopes and embankments, and prepare subgrades to design specifications.

Read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and site plans to ensure accurate work.

Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel.

Work with ground crews and communicate effectively to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards, company policies, and project specifications.

Assist with general labor or other equipment operation duties when required.

Maintain a clean and organized job site.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2–3 years experience operating excavators and/or dozers on highway or heavy civil projects.

Familiarity with GPS/laser grading systems is a plus.

Knowledge of soils, grades, compaction requirements, and cut/fill methods.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in all weather conditions.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.

Lift up to 50 lbs.

Work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
