Cornerstone Barricades, Inc. is a Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) service provider based in Gainesville, FL.
With over 20+ years of experience working for and with the Florida Department of Transportation, our
high experienced staff specializes in road construction safety. Our Advanced Maintenance of Traffic
(MOT) Certification enables our firm to provide superior MOT services, including designing, installation,
maintenance, and equipment rental.
We are looking for an accounting specialist who will join our team to assist in managing company
financials and day to day accounting needs.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a hardworking Accounting Specialist to join our team! As an Accounting Specialist
your main responsibility will be to provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas for
Cornerstone Barricades, including the accounts payable desk, general ledger accounting, and account
reconciliation.
Job Requirements
ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES
Using documents to verify record and process transactions
Maintaining accurate and complete records, including ledgers, journals invoices, receipts and
information related to supplies and inventory.
Assisting the accounting department in daily, month and annual activities, including generating
financial reports, developing budgets, preparing taxes and assisting with audits and resolving
discrepancies.
Speaking with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and that payments are
received in a timely manner.
Communicating with clients to discuss account statuses, charges or discrepancies. Participating
in ongoing education opportunities to learn about industry trends and developments, current
financial legislation and company policies and procedures.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in QuickBooks
Knowledge of Accounting Terminology and the ability to analyze financial Statements
Understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation.
Exceptional time management, communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong math and research skills.
Basic Computer skills with knowledge of bookkeeping software
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
More education or experience is often required.
