The Sustainable Workplace Alliance is a nonprofit organization that leverages grant funding to provide career training for individuals entering the construction and environmental cleanup industries, as well as safety training for those already working in these fields.
To date, the program has supported more than 13,000 workers across 25+ states, achieving a historic job placement rate of 70%. A 2015 analysis estimated the program’s economic impact at $1.79 billion over its first 18 years – equating to nearly $100 million annually. The same study also revealed that participation in the program increased a graduate’s probability of employment by 59%.
