M of Tallahassee, Inc. is a family-owned local heavy Civil Construction Company focused in the Tallahassee area for over 40 years. We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to add to our team, who can provide preventative maintenance & repairs of our diesel/gas equipment, both in house & in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform hydraulic and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot issues with Diesel/Gas engines, equipment & related accessories
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Travel daily to various construction job sites to make mechanical and hydraulic repairs on company equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, etc.
• Service/repair equipment in our shop or on our jobsites
• Plan work & complete route maintenance services without supervision
• Perform maintenance & repairs on all heavy equipment
• Be able to work under pressure both independently & as a team player

Schedule:
• Day Shift / Monday to Friday / Full Time
• Weekend/Overtime Availability
Experience:
• Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
• Driver’s License (Required)
Work Location:
• Multiple Locations in Tallahassee, FL area

Job Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience of maintaining/servicing/repairing gas/diesel heavy equipment
  • Mid-level diagnostic ability
  • Welding experience
  • Able to complete repairs such as welding, R&R of major components such as axles, engines & transmissions
  • Hydraulic experience
  • Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic (a plus)
  • Equipment dealership background (a plus)
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (Class A CDL - a plus)
  • Engine certification (a plus)
  • Able to lift +75lbs unassisted
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Ability to understand verbal/written instructions
  • Must be detail orientated & have ability to multi-task
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screen
